The volumes of house sales in Cambridge has returned to previous record highs with deals increasingly being agreed before houses reach the market, according to an estate agent in the city.

Simon Gardner ,managing director of TuckerGardner, said: “Cambridge is experiencing a return to peak levels as house prices continue to rise and property is moving so fast that our clients can expect to sell within two weeks of going on the market. In fact, very often, houses are being snapped up before they even make it to the market.” The number of sales agreed by TuckerGardner has reached 130 per week.

“This is particularly prevalent in city hotspots; areas within the vicinity of private schools for example are exceeding guide prices and going above and beyond expectations.” The market was also buoyant in Cambridgeshire villages.
